Event Description

The 2
nd
Annual Florida Film Educators Even Exchange conference is an annual forum for networking,
professional development and communications for Florida’s secondary and post secondary educators in
the film, television and media arts. The goal of this initiative is to increase communications among
education, government, and industry and to foster continued educational and economic excellence in
Florida’s motion picture and video production and distribution industry sector and services allied. Each
panel discussion will feature a mix of educators and industry professionals and will be led by a moderator.
This 2-day event will take place at Palm Beach Community College, in Palm Beach, Florida on April 7 and
8, 2003.

This year’s event will focus on integrating the business side with the creative side of the industry in the
classroom. The importance of student awareness regarding the opportunities in the entertainment
industry sector beyond directing a feature film will be stressed. Many different types of job positions are
necessary to make any type of media: accountants, production managers, entertainment lawyers, talent
agents, location scouts and managers, unit publicists, talent agents, marketing and publicity, script
supervisor...the list goes on. In addition, there are many student organizations that pride themselves in
helping prepare their members for the “Real World of Filmmaking”. We want educators, and in turn their
students, to know about the endless possibilities in the entertainment industry sector.
