SPECIAL EDITION:
“ALL AMERICAN SUCCESS STORIES”

Students added a special touch to the distribution of
“The All American Success Stories”

The Department of Education recently completed the five regional booklets highlighting over 129 student
success stories from Workforce Education programs which include Career and Technical and Adult
Education. To assist in the initial distribution, 18 representatives from
Career and Technical Student
Organizations (Florida FFA Association, Future Business Leaders of America, Florida Health
Occupations Students of America, Florida Skills-USA VICA, Florida Technology Student Association, and
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America-FCCLA)
presented the success stories to their local
legislators during the November committee meetings.

Dr. Lanny Larson welcomed the students and
sponsors from the Career and Technical
Student Organizations (CTSOs) before they
visited the Capitol.

FFA and FCCLA students share success stories
with Representative Ralph Poppell.

In presenting these stories, the
Department will recognize the
individuals with the most exceptional
demonstration of a “success story” as
regional and state winners.
Region IV had a regional award
recognition on December 6, Manatee
Technical Institute, and Region V
celebrated with their successful students on December 10, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

REGION II
celebrated their "All American Success Stories" January 10 at Bradford-
Union Vo-Tech. Over 60 people came to celebrate the regional winners and nominees,
including school board members, local commissioners, superintendents, nominators,
district and college staff, and family
members. The true message comes
from the words of Clarence DeSue,
Adult Education Director of Bradford
County Schools, "Everybody here is a
true winner!"

REGION III
gathered on January 9 in
Orlando, Florida to celebrate the
achievements of its “All American
Success Stories” winners. Over 100
participants including nominees,
family, friends, educators and administrators gathered at the beautiful Harry Leu Gardens
to honor the local and regional winners. During a breakfast ceremony, facilitators read
achievements of each local and regional winner as they received a congratulatory
certificate. Regional winners also received a trophy. The ceremony allowed the region
to celebrate the wonderful successes of the nominees and workforce education. The
ceremony concluded with a challenge to deans and directors to carry the message of
success to their respective community colleges, school districts and community-based
organizations so that we may continue to celebrate the many All American Success
stories.
