Regional Meetings to Provide Updated Information About
Accommodations for Students with Disabilities During the
Spring 2003 Administration of the Florida Comprehensive
Assessment Test (FCAT) – Additional Information
We are pleased to inform you of
six
regional meetings that have been scheduled for
district directors of exceptional student education and district coordinators of
assessment to provide updated information about accommodations for students with
disabilities during the spring 2003 administration of the Florida Comprehensive
Assessment Test (FCAT). In addition to the meeting dates and locations announced
previously via electronic mail, a sixth meeting has been scheduled in Chipley on
February 7, 2003. The purposes of these meetings are to

Provide background information about the FCAT and identify what is new
for the 2003 FCAT administration
�
?
Identify allowable accommodations for students with disabilities, including
expanded accommodations in response to the Blue Ribbon Task Force on
Accommodations and Access for Students with Disabilities
�
 
Identify procedures for requesting unique accommodations and waivers
�
 
Provide technical assistance materials, including presentation of an
accommodations toolkit and other written material.
Please see the attached tentative agenda and the list of meeting sites and hotel
information. Each of the regional meetings will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00
p.m. (The meeting in Chipley will begin at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time.)
