Postsecondary Preparatory Instruction
The following information should be used to guide student enrollment in postsecondary preparatory instruction
courses.
Only those students scoring below the college-ready cut scores must receive instruction.
Administrators, guidance counselors, and teachers are encouraged to consider courses carefully before selecting
the most appropriate course for student enrollment. Students who enroll in Mathematics for College Success,
Reading for College Success, and Writing for College Success may not earn core academic credit to satisfy
graduation requirements. In addition, these courses may not be approved by the National Collegiate
Association of Athletes (NCAA), Bright Futures Scholarship Program, and State University System for
eligibility or admissions purposes. The following Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) cut
scores are guidelines for student placement.
