    2011 – 2012 Florida Teacher Quality Grants: Call for Applications
    We are pleased to inform you about the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Florida Teacher
    Quality Gra
    nts Program. The attached provides guidance and instructions necessary to apply for
    this competitive funding to establish a partnership consisting of a high-need Local Education
    Agency (LEA), as defined in the RFP, College of Arts and Sciences, and Teacher Preparation
    programs within public or private universities and colleges, and other partners, as described in
    the RFP. The focus of the RFP is on teacher professional development in the content areas of
    Geometry, Biology, and U.S. History. Course descriptions based on the Next Generation
    Sunshine State Standards, which may be accessed at www.floridastandards.org, should provide
    the foundation for this professional development. The competitive RFP and application
    documents may be accessed from the following website: www.fldoe.org/bii/.
    Questions should be directed to Courtney Walker, Contracts and Grants Manager, Bureau of
    Curriculum and Instruction. All questions with answers and information regarding changes to
    the RFP will be posted on the Program Office website noted above. The last date that questions
    will be received is
