SUBJECT:

Survey of Concurrent-Use and Other Partnerships

Increasing access to baccalaureate education via concurrent-use and other
partnerships continues to be an important and exemplary practice in the K-20
environment. Accountability as it relates to improving access, emphasized in the
Florida Board of Education Strategic Imperative Eight, remains paramount.

Previously, we have requested regular updates regarding the concurrent-use
partnerships between your colleges and public and private institutions of
education. Our office received the most recent survey submissions in February
2002. Attached to this memo is a similar request for information intended to
obtain concurrent-use and other partnership information. The information
requested on the survey includes:

1.
Existing concurrent-use partnerships with public and private universities;
2.
Data on school district and workforce partnerships; and
3.
Exemplary programs within these partnerships that can be added to our
developing best practices database.

The instructions for completing each of these surveys are clearly stated at the top
of each document. A copy of this memo and the surveys (with college-specific
data included) are being sent to the representative at your college who completed
the February 2002 concurrent-use survey. (See the attached distribution list.)

Please facilitate the timely and accurate reporting of current programs at your
college.
It is imperative that we capture all programs being offered so that we can
accurately report on the success of partnerships between Florida’s community
colleges, state universities, independent colleges and universities, and school
districts.
