    2009-2010
    Career Cruiser

    ______________________________________________________________________________

In support of the Florida Department of Education’s goal of improving student achievement, the
    2009-2010
    Career Cruiser
, a career and education magazine, was shipped to districts in August
    2009 for distribution. The
    Career Cruiser
    includes information on occupations, personal
assessment activities, and career planning. Students can learn more about themselves and how to
match their interests and abilities to career and education options.

    The number of
    Career Cruisers
    allocated for each m
    iddle school reflects their 8
    th
    grade
enrollment. We recommend use in the career and education planning course that is required by
    s. 1003.4156, Florida Statutes. However, each school can determine which of their students will
    use the
    Cruisers
    .

Please note the Educator’s Toolkit (www.fldoe.org/workforce/ced) was developed for the career
and education planning course and includes many of the activities in the
    Career Cruiser
    .

Budget cuts no longer permit the shipping of the
    Cruisers
to each school as in the past.
Working in conjunction with Student Services Directors, one location for each district was
selected. Therefore, all shipments were sent to one location in each district. For your
convenience, please note the two attachments which indicate the location and the quantity your
    school should have received:
