Approved Providers for 2009-10
Section 1002.45, F.S., creates the School District Virtual Instruction Program and requires all school districts to
provide this virtual instruction program to eligible students beginning in 2009-10. School districts may operate
their own virtual instruction program, enter into a multi-district agreement or contract with an approved provider
to provide virtual instruction to district students. Subsection (2) in this statute approves
Florida Virtual School
and the two providers operating under section 1002.415, F.S. (
Florida Connections Academy, LLC and K
12
Florida, LLC
), to contract with school districts.
This law also requires the Department of Education to provide a list of additional approved providers to school
districts by March 1 of each year for the following school year. Providers seeking approval must submit an
electronic application to the Department.
The Department has completed the application review for the 2009-10 school year and has approved the
