FROM: TITLE I COMPARABILITY REPORT FOR 2008-2009
Public Law 107-110, Section 1120A(c) requires all Local Educational Agencies (LEAs)
receiving funds for Title I schools to ensure that services in Title I schools receiving
state and local funds for services taken as a whole are at least comparable to those
services provided to non-Title I schools.
The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) requires that all LEAs demonstrate
compliance with all comparability requirements on an annual basis by submitting their
comparability calculations to FLDOE in the fall of each school year. LEAs must submit
calculations for all schools including charter schools and those that may have been
skipped in the allocation process. All LEAs are required to submit this comparability
report including any LEA that may be exempt from the comparability requirements.
LEAs that identify non-comparable Title I schools must take corrective actions upon
such determinations, and must institute changes to ensure that all Title I schools are
comparable by the start of the second semester of the 2008-2009 school year.
We ask that each LEA utilize FLDOE’s online Comparability Reporting system to submit
the comparability report by January
30
, 2009. Your staff may access the online
reporting system at https://app1.fldoe.org/bsa/TitleIComparability/, and guidance for
completing the online report at http://www.fldoe.org/bsa/title1/pubs_data.asp.
