SUBJECT: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT: HOW TO DEVELOP A
DISTRICT RTI IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

The Florida Department of Education is pleased to announce
Technical Assistance and Support:
How to Develop a District RtI Implementation Plan
.
This regional workshop is the first in a series
of three workshops to assist school district teams with the development of their District RtI
Implementation Plan. The initial workshop in this series has been scheduled for five different dates
and locations during December 2008 to provide various scheduling opportunities for school district
teams to attend.

The purpose of these regional meetings is to provide guidance and technical assistance to members
of the District-Based Leadership Teams (DBLT). The target audience for these meetings is a
leadership team of district-level decision-makers: superintendents/assistant superintendents, district
curriculum leaders, reading and math supervisors (including Title I), student services, and special
education directors, gifted education specialists, ESOL coordinators, accountability coordinators
(district assessments), personnel developers, and behavior specialists.

Each of the three workshops in this series is focused on District RtI Implementation and will result
in activities that build a comprehensive plan. The content is as follows:

First workshop: Critical components of a District RtI Implementation Plan in Florida
Second workshop: Academic and behavioral instruction/interventions and resources
Third workshop: Assessment of student and district outcomes
