Student Financial Aid Fee Report

The College Credit Student Financial Aid Fee Report reflects the financial aid fees
collected from students enrolled in Advanced and Professional, Postsecondary
Vocational, and College Preparatory courses. The collection and use of fees
reported are governed by the provisions of new Section 1009.23(8)(c), Florida
Statutes (old Section 240.35(11), Florida Statutes).
The Workforce Development Education Programs Financial Aid Fee Report
reflects financial aid fees collected from students enrolled in non-credit Workforce
Development courses and programs. Requirements applicable to the collection
and use of these fees are contained in new Section 1009.22(5), Florida Statutes
(old Section 239.117(8), Florida Statutes).
In order to collect the 2001-2002 student financial aid information at the Division
level, we are requesting that each college prepare a 2001-2002 Student Financial
Aid Fee Report. This report is being electronically transmitted to your business
officers and financial aid directors and is available in LOTUS and EXCEL
formats.
To facilitate the preparation of the response, we are asking your college to e-mail
your responses to Sophia.Gaines@fldoe.org as well as complete and m
ail the
electronically transmitted form no later than
October 21, 2002

As explained in Memorandum Number 01-56, dated July 25, 2001, Senate Bill 2002 increased
the minimum requirement from 50 percent to 75 percent of the balance of the financial aid fees
collected that must be used to provide financial aid based on absolute need. Also, beginning July
1, 2001, the financial aid fee report “. . . shall include an assessment
by category
(emphasis
added) of the financial need of every student who receives an award, regardless of the purpose
for which the award is received.”
