MEMORANDUM # 02-91
TO:
Exceptional Student Education Administrators
FDLRS Associate Center Managers
FROM:
Shan Goff
SUBJECT:
Grow to 5
: Training for FDLRS Personnel
We are pleased to announce that the Bureau of Instructional Support and Community Services
will be sponsoring training for personnel from the Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources
System (FDLRS) Associate Centers in the use and dissemination of the
Grow to 5
training
modules.
The training will be held on November 6, 2002, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Marriott at
Tampa International Airport (agenda attached). A limited number of sleeping rooms have been
blocked at the hotel for participants who may need to arrive the night before the training. Hotel
arrangements should be made directly with Marriott Reservations at 1-800-228-9290 or (813)
879-5151 by individual attendees. The hotel reservation cut-off date is Friday, October 4, 2002,
to receive the special $89.00 room rate. Hotel rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes
in effect at the time of check in. FDLRS centers are expected to support the cost of travel for
this event.
This training is offered in support of the FDLRS Statewide Initiative that requires each FDLRS
Associate Center to provide training and support for the
Grow to 5
Project. All FDLRS
Associate Centers are required to send at least one person to this training as specified in the FY
2003 FDLRS Project Application. Centers that desire to send more than one participant may do
so on a space available basis. The training will be limited to 75 participants due to facility
considerations.
Each training participant will receive seven two-inch binders at the training. For participants
who are not driving to the training, arrangements will be made to ship the materials to the center
after completion of the training upon request. Shipping address information should be brought to
the meeting if participants wish to have their materials shipped.
