Element Name: Reading Fluency

**NEW ELEMENT**

Definition/Domain

 

A code to indicate the Reading fluency status of a student who scored Level 1 or Level 2 on the FCAT

Reading subtest. This determination is made through the use of a district assessment(s) as required by

SBER 6A-6.054(2)(c) and (3)(c). Disfluent students must receive additional instructional time (more than

one period of reading intervention). The cut-score for this determination is included in the district’s K-12

Comprehensive Reading Plan.

 

This element applies to students in grades 06-12 only. Report a ‘Z’ code for all students in grades PK –

05.

The student has been determined to be disfluent in Reading through the use of a

district assessment(s).

Not applicable. The student is in grade level PK-05 or scored above Level 2 on the

Reading subtest of the FCAT. Also use code Z for all students in Survey Period 7.
