    2. TO: District Superintendents
    3. FROM: Dr. Frances Haithcock
    4. DATE: April 18, 2008
    5. SUBJECT: 2008 LEA Profile
    6. The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services is pleased to provide you with the 2008 local education agency (LEA) Profile. The profile incorporates a variety of data related to educational benefit, educational environment, prevalence, and parent involvement in the education of students with disabilities. Data in the profile represent the most current information available and in some cases trend data over the course of three years.
    7. Some revisions have been made to the profile. The calculations for the standard diploma graduation rate and risk ratios have been revised to parallel the calculations used in Florida’s State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Reports. Added to the profile are data on Part C to Part B transition and parent survey results. On the last page, the number of state targets and LEA performance relative to these targets has been expanded to include all of the State Performance Plan indicators for which district data are available.
    8. Copies of the 2008 LEA Profile will be posted on the Department of Education Web site no later than
    9. May 30, 2008, at http://www.fldoe.org/ese/datapage.asp.
