2008 Chancellor’s Leadership Seminar for Workforce Education
I am pleased to announce the third annual Workforce Education Leadership Seminar. This
seminar is a premier leadership development opportunity for mid-level managers who are
seeking advancement to senior-level positions in Workforce Education.
The goal of the Chancellor’s Leadership Seminar (CLS) is to prepare future workforce
administrators to take the place of directors who are retiring or moving on to other positions.
We are asking you to nominate one person from your district to participate in this leadership
developm
ent opportunity. Please send your letter of support for the candidate whom you believe
would benefit from this valuable experience. There are only twenty-five openings available to
nominees who meet the criteria and application deadline, so please submit your nomination no
later than March 28, 2008. Nomination letters should be sent to Chancellor Hadi at the address
below or can be emailed to yvette.hargreaves@fldoe.org.
Additionally, each nominee will be required to complete an online application and submit a
curriculum vitae. The application can be found on the Department’s web site at
http://data.fldoe.org/register/wfleadership/. Curricula vitae should be submitted via email to
Yvette Hargreaves.

selected nominees by April 2008.

Educators (FACTE) will underwrite the cost of the seminar development and coordination,
seminar materials and some meals. Additionally, travel and hotel expenses will be reimbursed to
the participant. A $175 registration fee will be the responsibility of the nominating
district/agency. A fact sheet is enclosed which provides details on the conference location and
dates.
Thank you for your support of this exciting program. We look forward to having a
