SUBJECT:
High School Feedback Report of 2006 Graduates
To assist school districts in preparing Florida’s high school graduates for successful transition to postsecondary
education and the workplace, the
High School Feedback Report for 2006 Graduates
, is currently available to the
public online at http://data.fldoe.org/readiness.
Now in its third year of publication, the
High School Feedback
Report
provides a comprehensive snapshot of the 2006 high school graduates’ academic experience. Every public
high school that had graduates in 2006 has an online report. Within the report format are pre-graduation and post-
gra
duation indicators of college readiness; allowing for comparison of school, district, and state data. Additionally,
this year, there is a built-in feature to view 2004-2006 school-, district-, and state-level trend data side by side. We
have also added a new indicator on student performance in college credit courses at Independent Colleges and
Universities of Florida. There are several possible approaches for using the feedback data, all of which can be used
to better analyze and plan for improving student learning and achievement.
The Florida Department of Education’s K-20 Education Data Warehouse (EDW) is the reporting source for the 2006
public high school data and follow-up data for postsecondary enrollment. Comparing the overall statewide data
between 2005 and 2006 graduate cohorts, I am very pleased with continued increases for:
9
student enrollment in Algebra I or the equivalent prior to Grade 9;
9
students completing at least one Level 3 (college preparatory) high school math and science course;
9
student enrollment in at least one Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or
Advanced International Certificate of Education course; and
9
student performance in entry level and advanced college math courses.
For questions relating to the reports, please contact Dr. Shruti Graf directly at shruti.graf@fldoe.org.
