SUBJECT: 2006-07 Florida Education Finance Program Final Calculation

 

Attached is the final calculation of the 2006-07 Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP).

This calculation incorporates 2006-07 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) students and supplemental

information prepared from the summation of July, October, February and June survey data. The

2006 ad valorem tax roll certified by the Department of Revenue on August 30, 2007, was used

 

In comparing the final calculation with the fourth calculation, please note the following:

 

1.

 

Unweighted FTE increased by 781.14 from 2,637,549.96 to 2,638,331.10.

 

2.

 

Funded weighted FTE increased by 993.03 from 2,878,679.27 to 2,879,672.30.

The Group 2 over-cap weighted FTE is 1,500.91; the under-cap total is 20,529.26.

 

3.

 

FEFP Base Funding increased by $3,944,929 from $11,461,576,596 to $11,465,521,525

as a result of the funded weighted FTE increase.

Declining Enrollment decreased $671,759 from $58,740,719 to $58,068,960.

Total Required Local Effort decreased $42,289,311 from $7,362,815,580 to

$7,320,526,269.

Total Prior Year Adjustments are $30,250,860. Individual district amounts may be

significant due to inclusion of the net earned vs. paid adjustments from the final 2005-06

calculation.

 

7.

 

The amount withheld for the John M. McKay Scholarship Program is $120,454,469.

 

 

The differences between the final and fourth FEFP and Discretionary Lottery Calculations will

become an adjustment to the third 2007-08 FEFP and Discretionary Lottery calculations.
