Reimbursement for Health Inspections of School Kitchens
This document supports the mission of Florida’s K-20 education system to increase the
proficiency of all students within one seamless, efficient system. Through this and other modes
of assistance, the office of Food and Nutrition Management supports the State Board of
Education’s goal to deliver quality, efficient services.
The 2007 Legislature appropriated general revenue funds to reimburse school districts for the
cost of required food preparation area inspections by county health departments. Please provide
a list of inspected sites, the cost for each inspection, and verification of payment to the health
department.
Please submit the above information no later than
September 28, 2007

Funds will be
distributed when all school districts have submitted the required documentation. If appropriated
funds are not sufficient to reimburse all costs, available funds will be prorated to each district.
