Middle School Principals
FROM:

SUBJECT:
2007-2008
Career Cruiser
In support of the Florida Department of Education's strategic imperative for highest student
achievement, the 2007-2008
Career Cruiser
, a career and education magazine, is now being
shipped to all middle schools. The
Career Cruiser
includes information on occupations, personal
assessment activities, and career planning. Students can learn more about themselves and how to
match their interests and abilities to career and education options. As you coordinate the
distribution of the
Career Cruiser
in your school, please let the teachers know that the
Teacher’s
Guide
is only available on the website listed below.
Each school has identified a person to receive and distribute the Career Cruiser. Distribution
within each school should include teachers of the career and education planning course that is
required by the A++ legislation. Additional resources for the career and education planning
course include the Educator’s Toolkit (www.fldoe.org/workforce/ced), CHOICES Planner or
CHOICES Explorer (www.flchoices.org), and FACTS (www.facts.org).
