JUVENILE JUSTICE EDUCATION PROGRAMS TECHNICAL
ASSISTANCE WORKSHOP
We are pleased to announce that the Juvenile Justice Education Programs Technical
Assistance Workshop will be held at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida, on September 24-
25, 2002. The workshop will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, and conclude
no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25.
This workshop is designed for district dropout prevention coordinators, ESE coordinators,
workforce development personnel, juvenile justice education lead teachers, and juvenile
justice facility administrators. The agenda will feature major federal and state initiatives
concerning
No Child Left Behind
and special sessions on critical topics including
ESE services, contract management, vocational education, funding/finance/expenditures,
curriculum/instruction/assessment, and academic advisement/graduation options.

The Juvenile Justice Education Programs Technical Assistance Workshop will be held at
the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida. A block of rooms has been reserved at the special
rate of $95 per night, plus tax, single or double occupancy. Please specify “Department of
Education Meeting” to obtain these rates. Individual reservations should be made directly
with the hotel by calling 1-800-366-9700,
no later than September 13, 2002. After this
date, there is no guarantee of room or rate availability.
Please return the enclosed Registration Form to indicate plans for participation from your
district, institution, or agency.
Each participant must complete a separate registration
form.
The form should be mailed or faxed to the address indicated so that it is received
no
later than September 13, 2002.
