Technical Assistance Paper (TAP) #07-03: Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Education

Programs and Programs for Children with Disabilities

Consistent with the Department’s mission to increase educational options, we are pleased to provide you

with the attached updated technical assistance paper (TAP #07-03) entitled Voluntary Prekindergarten

(VPK) Education Programs and Programs for Children with Disabilities. Through collaboration with

VPK programs, Florida’s school districts are provided a unique opportunity to expand the use of inclusive

placements for prekindergarten children with disabilities. This TAP replaces an earlier version

disseminated in July 2005 (TAP #05-02), and addresses some of the policy issues related to VPK and

exceptional student education (ESE) programs.
