Announcing the 2002-2003 National Association of State Directors of Special Education
(NASDSE) Satellite Conference Series:
Achieving Stu
dent Results through Collaboration
The 2002-2003 NASDSE Satellite Conference Series:
Achieving Student Results through Collaboration
reflects
topics consistent with the theme of educating all students, including students with disabilities through planning,
implementing, and sustaining practices that effectively support students as they learn. This series focuses on
implementing No Child Left Behind, community schools, paraprofessionals, and reading.
The Bureau of Instructional Support and Community Services (BISCS) is pleased to sponsor this series at no
cost to you. Sponsorship includes unlimited downlink sites, unlimited video taping rights and unlimited
rebroadcast rights for in-state educational, non-commercial use. You are strongly encouraged to participate in
these activities, and we appreciate your making the satellite conferences available to other district staff in your
service area. The 2002-2003 schedule is attached so that you can arrange with your ITV contact for downlink.
(Sites such as public schools, cooperative education agencies, libraries, technical or trade schools, community
colleges, universities, and hospitals that have the capability to receive a C-band satellite signal may also wish to
broadcast the satellite conferences.)
For each teleconference scheduled, the Clearinghouse Information Center will send you the materials related to
that particular conference and will fax the coordinates when they are received from NASDSE. The materials are
usually sent two weeks prior to the air date and include an evaluation form, handouts, and supporting material
that you may duplicate as necessary. You may make a video copy of the teleconference, and combined with the
materials you will have an excellent training packet for teachers. We encourage you and the participants from
your districts to phone or fax in questions during the last 30 minutes of the conference.
BISCS is interested in Florida’s participation in these telecasts. Please email any comments or concerns
regarding the satellite conference series to cicbiscs@fldoe.org. Thank you for the ongoing services you provide
within your service area.
