The State Board of Education, at its August 13, 2002, meeting,
approved the attached list of dual enrollment courses identified to
meet high school graduation requirements.
This change to the dual enrollment program is effective beginning

amend their local articulation agreements to comply with the
following:
•
Students who meet the dual enrollment eligibility requirements
must be allowed to enroll in the c

dual enrollment by the local postsecondary institution.
•

enrollment must be awarded the designated subject area or
elective credit toward high school graduation requirements.
•
All dual enrollment four-credit (one semester) foreign language
courses, as well as specific semester courses in the subject areas
of mathematics and science, must be awarded one full high

and community colleges to weigh college-level dual enrollment is to not discriminate
against dual enrollment courses when advanced courses in the same subject area receive
weighting.
The school district and local postsecondary institution may designate other postsecondary
courses not on this list as available for dual enrollment. In such instances, the school
district and postsecondary institution are to agree on the satisfaction of high school
requirements.
In addition, school districts are not precluded from awarding subject area credit for those
dual enrollment courses guaranteed to receive elective credit. However, high school
subject area credit is only guaranteed for the courses on the approved list at this time.
Our intent is to continue to build upon the approved list through the work of the
Articulation Coordinating Committee and statewide faculty committees.
Should you have questions about this dual enrollment list, please contact Mr. Matthew
Bouck at (850) 922-0344 or Matthew.Bouck@FLDOE.org. Thank you for your attention
to this matter.
