    Kindergarten Teacher Survey of Knowledge of the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)
    Education Program
    Since the goal of Florida’s VPK Education Program is to provide children with the skills and experiences
    necessary for them to enter kindergarten “ready to learn,” it is critical that we improve our collaboration
    and coordination between prekindergarten/preschool and kindergarten programs. To obtain information
    on kindergarten teachers’ impressions and understanding of the VPK program, we have developed a short
    on-line survey. These survey questions apply both to kindergarten teachers who have students in their
    class who participated in VPK as well as to those who do not. Specifically, the questions address:

    knowledge and awareness of the VPK program
    –
    ?
    transition to kindergarten
    –
    ?
    kindergarten instruction.
    We are asking you to forward the link to this confidential online survey to your kindergarten teachers and
    encourage their participation. The survey is short, taking less than five minutes to complete. It can be
    accessed at http://www.fldoe.org/earlylearning/survey/, and will be live until December 15, 2006. The
    results of the survey will be available approximately two weeks after the survey’s end. If you have
    additional questions regarding the survey or the VPK Education Program in general, please contact our
