Florida Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Week is November 13-19, 2006. This is the first week of its kind
for paralysis anywhere in the United States. This week is designed to show children how some of the
things they do in every day life could potentially lead to a spinal cord injury if proper safety measures are
not taken. The goal is to reduce the number of spinal cord injuries in the state.
There are approximately 11,000 new spinal cord injuries each year in the United States and the most at-
