Technical Assistance for 2006 Reading Data Elements

The Just Read, Florida! office is collaborating with the Education Information and

Accountability Services office in the Department of Education to incorporate certain data

elements required by the K-12 Comprehensive Reading Plan (as indicated in s.1001.215, F.S.)

within the Automated Student and Staff Data Base System. The intended audience for this

technical assistance includes reading supervisors and MIS directors.

Training was conducted in June for the district MIS directors by Dr. Evan Lefsky and Dr. Ruth

Jones. The PowerPoint they presented is attached. Also attached is a question and answer

document that is designed to assist district contacts when responding to school based data entry

questions. Further attachments include a list of MIS directors, Appendices I and L, survey dates,

the Reading Intervention Component element, and the Reading Endorsement Competency 1

element.
