    New Teacher Certification-Cosmetology Programs
     
     
    Attached is a new page for the teacher certification publication titled “Teacher Certification
    Coverages with Specialization Requirements for Vocational Programs and Courses” last revised
    7/95. In keeping with the State Board of Education Strategic Imperative #1, the addition of these
    new teacher certifications will increase the supply of available teachers by allowing registered
    Nail Specialists, Facials Specialists and Full Specialists to teach their profession to students
    throughout Florida.
     
    The
    Nails Specialist
    program will have a new teacher certification: NAIL TECH @7 G. The
    acceptable job titles will be Cosmetologist (licensed), Nail Specialist (registered), Beautician
    (licensed), Teacher in Private Beauty School (licensed), Owner/Operator of a Salon (if also
    works as a licensed Cosmetologist or registered Nail Technician) and a minimum of two years
    full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in nail specialist occupations
     
    The
    Facials Specialist
    program will have a new teacher cer
    acceptable job titles will be Cosmetologist (licensed), Facial Specialist (registered), Beautician
    (licensed), Teacher in Private Beauty School (licensed), Owner/Operator of a Salon (if also
    works as a licensed Cosmetologist or registered Facial Technician) and a minimum of two years
    full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in facial specialist occupations.
