SUBJECT: Public Schools Staff Survey – New Hires
Attached is the annual two-page
New Hires – Instructional Personnel
survey and instruction sheet (ESE 058)
which supports the goal of the Department to increase the supply of highly qualified teachers
.
This is a
multipurpose data collection instrument designed to collect data to meet state reporting requirements.
Comprehensive data from this survey instrument are used in the Department publications,
Critical Teacher
Shortage Areas
and
New Hires in Florida Public Schools.
Please direct the attachment to the person who is responsible for maintaining your staff database. The survey is
being sent as an Excel file to be completed and returned in Excel via email to Teresa.Sancho@fldoe.org. The data
collection period is specific to staff hired between July 1, 2006 and October 31, 2006. The completed survey should
be returned by November 30, 2006.
No hard copies should be sent to the Department. The Excel file attached should be completed, saved and emailed
back to Teresa Sancho at the email address provided.
