    2006 Legislative Changes Regarding
    School Attendance (Revised)
    Summary
    :
The 2006 Legislature passed Committee Substitute for Senate Bill 772 to amend Chapter 1003, Florida
Statutes, Sections 1003.02 and 1003.21, related to school attendance. The revisions were addressed in the
“2006 Legislative Changes Regarding School Attendance” memorandum.
Based on feedback from the school districts, revisions have been made to the technical assistance documents
(Survey of Dropouts/Intent to Terminate Enrollment and Exit Interview forms). The documents attached
replace the previous technical assistance documents dated August 30, 2006. Web-based data collection of
the Student Survey will be implemented beginning with a target month of February 2007. Please be sure to
maintain the information collected on the Survey of Dropouts/Intent to Terminate Enrollment form so that
aggregate counts can be collected by the Department.
