Florida Statewide Teacher Education Conference
Assessing Candidates’ Performance for Impact on K-12 Student Learning

Conference Agenda
The conference will begin at 8:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 3, and conclude no later than 12:30 P.M. on
Friday, August 4. The conference agenda will include a keynote address; a panel of education leaders on
the future of teacher education; a general session presentation by Hanna Skandera, Deputy
Commissioner for Accountability, Research, and Measurement; and a luncheon address by
Commissioner of Education John L. Winn. Due to the excellent response to our call for presentations, we
anticipate as many as 26 concurrent sessions on current practices and research. The conference will
also provide opportunities for networking.
Conference Location
The conference will be held at the Klein Conference Center (Building 40), Central Florida Community
College, 3001 SW College Road, Ocala, Florida. Driving directions and a campus map are available at

Conference Registration and Fees
FACTE will collect a conference registration fee of $50.00 ($60.00 onsite) to cover meeting expenses and
amenities including breakfasts, lunch, breaks, and a networking reception. Because FACTE is
responsible for conference costs incurred on the basis of registrations, no refunds will be issued for
cancellations or no-shows; paid registrations may be transferred to a different individual as necessary.
Registration fees may be paid by check, money order, or purchase order made payable to “FACTE,” and
mailed with a copy of the completed registration form to:

CFCC Hospitality
Through the auspices of the CFCC Equine Studies Program, a special tour of a local horse farm will be
available at no cost for interested conference participants following the reception on Thursday evening.
The tour is limited to the first 50 people who register. Check the appropriate box on the registration form
to indicate your interest in participating, and be sure to wear your casual clothes/comfortable shoes!
