SUBJECT:
2006-2007 SUCCEED, Florida – Request for Application (RFA) - Continuation
The 2006 Legislative session authorized $8,800,000 to continue the support of SUCCEED,
Florida and Jobs for Florida’s Future programs. This initiative will Align Workforce Education
Programs with Skill Requirements of the New Economy as stated in the Department’s Strategic
Imperative Six. Funds must be used to support new students and not supplant current funding or
students. Institutions applying for funds shall not reduce funding or the current level of
enrollment in existing programs. Any such reduction will result in a pro rata reduction in
funding.
Recipients of 2005-2006 funds for SUCCEED, Florida and Jobs for Florida’s Future programs
are eligible to apply. Institutions recommended for continuation funding must show successful
performance accomplishments during the 2005-2006 project year. All awards are pending the
Commissioner of Education’s final approval.
To assist in preparing the Request for Application, the Florida Department of Education has
scheduled a conference call for Monday, June 19, 2006, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. EDT. The call in
number is toll free (888) 461-8118. Due to a limited number of available lines, institutions are
asked to make arrangements to call in from one central location per campus. The purpose of
these conference calls is to provide technical assistance related to the development,
