STATEWIDE TEACHER EDUCATION CONFERENCE (OCALA, FLORIDA:
AUGUST 3-4, 2006) CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
We are pleased to invite your participation in the statewide teacher education conference,
Assessing Candidates’ Performance for Impact on K-12 Student Learning
, to be held in Ocala,
Florida, on August 3-4, 2006.
This conference is sponsored by the Department of Education in partnership with the Florida
Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (FACTE), and hosted by Central Florida
Community College (CFCC). It will focus on assessing the effect of program completers on
student achievement, consistent with recent revisions to Rule 6A-5.066, “Approval of Educator
Preparation Programs,”
Florida Administrative Code.
(The revised rule may be viewed at
.)
The conference will enable teacher educators in initial certification programs delivered through
colleges of education and those in professional preparation programs delivered through school
districts and educator preparation institutes to share knowledge, practice, and research related
to program implementation, outcomes and accountability in terms of completers’ impact on K-12
student learning.
