SUBJECT: 2006 JUVENILE JUSTICE EDUCATION INSTITUTE AND
SOUTHERN CONFERENCE ON CORRECTIONS
In support of the Department of Education’s goal to lead the nation in Raising Student
Achievement, we are pleased to announce the Juvenile Justice Education Institute and Southern
Conference on Corrections which will be held at the Hotel Royal Plaza in Orlando on July 19-21,
2006. The Institute will provide important information concerning

transition planning, and career education, which is essential to the success of juvenile justice
involved students.
Your participation in this statewide opportunity for professional development is essential to
achieving our common goals of quality educational programs provided to students served by the
Department of Juvenile Justice. Over these three days, workshops representing state and local
expertise, research-based instructional strategies, and best practices in juvenile justice education
will be offered.
