Florida Learn & Serve One-Year Pilot Projects
I am pleased to announce the release of the 2006-2007 Request for Proposal for competitive projects for
Florida Learn & Serve One-Year Pilot Projects, authorized under Title I, Subtitle B, of the National
Community Service Act of 1990. Florida Learn & Serve provides the leadership, financial support,
technical assistance, networking opportunities, and products to create multiple opportunities to engage all
Florida K-12 students in quality curricula-based service learning. Learn & Serve is a federally-funded
grant program that awards grants to schools and school districts to engage youth in service learning.
The proposal application can be found at http://www.fsu.edu/~flserve/. Proposals must be received at the
Florida Department of Education by June 2, 2006.
The funds will be awarded through a competitive grant process based on the implementation of research-
based academic improvement practices, through collaborative efforts, and meeting the grant criteria.
