As previously communicated, the Comprehensive English Language Learning Assessment
(CELLA), an annual assessment that measures the English language proficiency of English
language learners (ELLs) in grades K-12, will be administered in Florida for the first time
starting in August 2006. In an effort to assist school districts, seven Train-the-Trainer
CELLA
Florida Training Regional Workshops
have been scheduled throughout the state. These
workshops are intended for district and school personnel who will be responsible for
coordinating all activities relating to the administration of CELLA, and for training local test
administrators.

number of ELLs that will be tested in August. The number of participants at each workshop will
be capped at 60. Attached is the schedule for the training sessions. The first workshop will be
