    Definitions for English Language Learner (ELL) Alternative Assessment
    2005-2006 School Year
     
     
    12 Months –
    The twelve (12) months are defined as follows
    :
    For students exempted from FCAT Writing the LEP Entry Date (as reported on
    the LEP Reporting Format, in either Survey 2 or Survey 3 (or as listed on LEP
    Student Plan for those students who entered after Survey 3) must be on or after
    February 7, 2005. For students exempted from FCAT Reading/Language Arts,
    Mathematics or Science, the LEP Entry Date must be on or after March 6, 2005.

    ELL/LEP Students
    – only students classified as limited English proficient and
    enrolled in an approved English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
    Program; that is, only those classified/reported as LYs. You may view the data

    Alternative Assessment Instrument
    – the instrument or assessment process
    used to assess the ELL/LEP student’s academic achievement in the subject area
    (mathematics, reading, science or writing) the student was exempted from
    participation in the FCAT assessment. District may select the instrument from the
    list of alternative assessments provided by FDOE or another instrument (use
    code of “Other”) of their choice.
