Provider/School Database

A new feature on the Department of Education/Office of Early Learning website

(http://www.myfloridaeducation.com/earlylearning/) is the Transitioning from VPK to Kindergarten:

Provider/School Database (http://data.fldoe.org/earlylearning/eleprek/).

Easing a child’s transition from VPK to kindergarten is the shared responsibility of many individuals and

institutions. The relationships among families, early childhood education programs, and elementary

schools are most effective when they are dynamic and ongoing. The Provider/School Database has been

created in an effort to create opportunities for family involvement in the transition process and to facilitate

ongoing shared professional development between early childhood education programs and elementary

schools. The database allows users to choose a district/county and search either by Provider or

Elementary School to display a list of schools/providers in the same zip code.

We ask you to make use of the database and let us know of ways that it is helpful to you and also how we

can improve it in our continuing efforts to ensure that children start school ready to learn.
