Estimated June 2006 Department of Juvenile Justice Unweighted FTE
(Survey 4)
This document is intended to assist school districts in the reporting of full-time equivalent (FTE)
students as required by Section 1011.62(1)(a), Florida Statutes. Through this communication
and other technical assistance, the Florida State Board of Education is meeting its goal of
delivering quality services in one seamless, efficient system.
The third calculation of the 2005-06 Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) requires an
estimate of June 2006 Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) unweighted full-time equivalent
students (UFTE) by school, program, and grade. The July 2005 DJJ UFTE (from Survey 1) will
serve as your district’s estimated June 2006 DJJ UFTE, unless a better estimate can be provided.

The attached form letter, which certifies the estimated June 2006 DJJ total, must be signed by
the superintendent or designee and submitted no later than Friday, November 4, 2005. If the
July 2005 DJJ UFTE is to be used as your district’s estimated June 2006 DJJ UFTE, or if you
anticipate zero DJJ UFTE for June, a letter that certifies the total UFTE is still required.
Submitted UFTE will be reconciled to the total certified in the letter.
For districts that submit data after the November 4 deadline, the July 2005 DJJ UFTE will be
used as the estimated June 2006 DJJ UFTE.
In the event it is necessary to fax the data in order to meet the November 4 deadline, please direct
the fax to Karen Johnson at (850) 245-9135 or SunCom 205-9135. Also, please call Karen at
(850) 245-0405 or SunCom 205-0405 to verify receipt of the fax.
