First Annual K-12 Continuous Improvement Conference
Hotel and Registration Information
Recently you received an announcement for the upcoming First Annual K-12 Continuous
Improvement Conference to be held at Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Hotels. Presenters
include Commissioner John Winn, newly appointed K-12 Chancellor Dr. Cheri Yecke, Dr. Gerald
Anderson, Dr. Willard Daggett (International Center for Leadership in Education), Dr. Gene
Bottoms (Southern Regional Education Board), and Dr. Robert B. Ingram (Vice-Chair, Miami-
Dade County School Board). The purpose of this memorandum is to provide you with further
information relating to hotel and conference registration and to encourage your support and
participation.
The 2005 K-12 Continuous Improvement Pre-Conference activities will begin at 8:00 a.m. on
Monday, December 12, 2005. The full conference will kickoff at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
December 13, 2005. On-site registration will open on Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2005, and
each subsequent morning at 7:30 a.m. To register for the conference, please visit
http://www.coedu.usf.edu/tac/regform.asp. Through November 18, 2005, registration fees are
$175. Late and on-site registration fees will be $225. Please note that checks, money orders, and
advance warrants should be made payable to K-12/FETC. Purchase orders will not be accepted.

Hotel reservations should be made directly with the Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin
Hotels by calling (407) 934-4000 or (888) 828-8850. Please specify that you are making
reservations for the Florida Department of Education, K-12 Continuous Improvement Conference.
The room rate for the conference, including the preceding and the following weekends, is $125
per night. Since the conference begins early Tuesday morning, you are encouraged to arrive on
Monday. The Closing General Session should conclude around noon on Friday,
December 16, 2005. Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. The cut-off date for
the room block is November 18, 2005.
We look forward to seeing each of you at this important event. In addition, we strongly encourage
you to submit proposals for high quality sessions. The Call for Proposal application is attached. If
