Request for 2004-2005 Report of Minority Business Expenditures

DUE DATE: SEPTEMBER 26, 2005

To assist the Florida Department of Education in meeting Strategic Imperative Seven, Aligning

Financial Resources with Performance, the Comm

Governor Jeb Bush established the Office of Supplier Diversity as one of his initiatives and areas

of concern. This office monitors the degree to which agencies procure services, commodities,

and construction from minority business enterprises in accordance with the minority business

enterprise procurement goals set forth in Section 287.042, Florida Statutes. The community

colleges, along with state agencies, must report minority business expenditures in order to

determine the level of economic opportunity being provided for gender and racial/ethnic

minority vendors. We would like to provide the Governor with a 2004-2005 update as soon as

possible.
