2004-2005 Matching Programs Expenditure Report and Usage Report
DUE DATE: August 30, 2005
To assist the Florida Department of Education in meeting its imperative of Aligning Financial
Resources with Performance, it is important that the Community College System account for and
allocate resources used to improve student and institutional performance. The purpose of this
memorandum is to advise you that the 2004-2005 Dr. Philip Benjamin Matching Program for
Community Colleges Expenditure Report and Usage Report forms have been forwarded to your
college’s Foundation Directors and Business Officers in electronic format. These electronic
forms should be returned via e-mail to Maybelle.Montford@fldoe.org no later than
August 30,
2005.
Legislative members and their staff are enthusiastic about the ability of our matching programs
to provide an ongoing source of financial aid for all types of students. They are aware of the
growth of our matching programs in recent years and view the programs as a flexible and stable
way to meet the financial needs of a broad array of students.

We believe that it is important for us to collect and provide this type of information to the
Legislature and other interested parties. We do a tremendous job with our matching programs,
and this data will help document and demonstrate the success of our programs, particularly in the
area of financial aid.
We have requested that the reports be returned to Maybelle Montford by
August 30, 2005,
in
order that we may include examples of the uses of these funds in the narrative for the legislative
budget request for 2006-2007 matching funds. If you have any questions, please contact Ms.
Montford at (850) 245-9372, or SUNCOM 205-9372. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
