SUBJECT: Assistant Principal Leadership Forums
The Florida Department of Education is pleased to announce an outstanding leadership learning
opportunity this fall. Scholarships are available for three regional
Assistant Principal
Leadership Forums
through the Department’s DELTA professional development initiative.
These dynamic forums will each provide three days of leadership development for assistant
principals aligned with the Florida Leadership Standards to increase the supply of effective
school leaders in our state.
The Florida Department of Education is partnering with the Council for Educational Change to
provide these Forums for assistant principals with the same high quality leadership learning
evident in the highly successful annual summer Florida Leadership Academy. Information
concerning eligibility and application to attend a Forum in your area will be sent by the Council
for Educational Change.
We strongly encourage participation by your district.
The Forum dates are:
September 21-23, 2005, in Coral Springs, Florida

Participation is limited and scholarships cover the cost of program instruction, materials,

The Council has considerable experience delivering excellent professional development
activities including this year’s National Assistant Principal Leadership Academy, three Annual
Florida Leadership Academies, and the recent Instructional Leadership Academy in Miami-Dade
County. All have received high marks from independent evaluators and rave reviews by
