SUBJECT:
Updated Interinstitutional Articulation Agreements
Consistent with the state’s goal of ensuring “seamless articulation and maximum access” for students, school dis-
tricts and community colleges are required to annually update their Interinstitutional Articulation Agreements.
These agreements “must be completed before high school registration for the fall term of the following school year”
(Section 1007.235(2), Florida Statutes). With the arrival of summer, your district should now have in place an up-
dated agreement.
The Department of Education is required to “review each articulation agreement and certify the statewide course
number of postsecondary courses that meet each district's graduation requirements” (Section 1007.235(5), Florida
Statutes). To complete this review, I am requesting that your district’s agreement be electronically submitted to me
at pamela.kerouac@fldoe.org by
Friday, August 1, 2005,
Dr. Pamela Kerouac
Florida Department of Education, Office of Articulation
325 West Gaines Street, Suite 1704
Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0400
If you are still in the process of finalizing your agreement and would like assistance, please email Dr. Kerouac or
call 850-245-9558. A sample format of the agreement is attached. The components of the sample agreement are
consistent with the requirements of law and will be used as criteria in determining certification/compliance status.
Your commitment to providing your students with maximum access to a broad range of education options is re-
flected in the agreements you develop locally. The time and energy you invest in negotiating these agreements is
greatly appreciated by the students you serve. This year, the Office of Articulation intends to identify and recognize
the 2005-06 Interinstitutional Articulation Agreements that best reflect the importance of effective agreements,
model
Best Practices,
and serve as a statewide example of collaborative guidance services and student achievement.
