Consistent with the Department’s mission to provide resources to support effective teaching practices, t he
Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services is pleased to announce that the Traumatic Brain
Injury (TBI) Manual,
Understanding and Teaching Students with Traumatic Brain Injury: What Families
and Teachers Need to Know
, is now available. This document was developed to assist families and school-
based personnel in obtaining a greater understanding of traumatic brain injuries and their effects on students.
We believe the use of this manual will enable teachers to improve student rates of learning.
