SUBJECT:
Title V, Part A – Innovative Education Programs Application, 2005-06
We are pleased to provide you with the Request for Applications for the 2005-06 Title V, Part A –
Innovative Education Programs Application. This program provides funds to each district as an
entitlement program based on student enrollment. The Innovative Education Program is one of the most
flexible for implementing programs to assist local educational agencies (LEAs) in supplementing school
improvement initiatives. These initiatives are part of Florida’s mission to “increase the proficiency of all
students within one seamless, efficient system, their knowledge and skills through learning opportunities
and research valued by students, parents and communities.” The broad range of activities to choose from
within the Innovative Education Program allows districts to focus implementation of programs where the
need is the greatest.
The attached preliminary allocation chart shows the 2005-06 entitlement funds by district.
The original and two copies of the application should be submitted to the address indicated on the form.
Based on the availability of funds, the Department of Education will approve your application effective
July 1, 2005, or the date it is received in substantially approvable form, whichever is later.
I wish you continued success in utilizing these funds to supplement your efforts to improve the quality of
education in our state. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Peggy Primicerio at
peggy.primicerio@fldoe.org or 850-245-0501.
