    PROGRAM:
    The National Endowment for th
    e Humanities (NEH) provides
    funding to support several projects throughout the year. For the Grants to
    Preserve and Create Access to Humanities Collections Program, funding will
    go toward projects that preserve and create access to collections that are
    highly important for research, education, and public programming in the
    humanities. Collections can include: books, journals, newspapers,
    manuscripts, archival materials, maps, still and moving images, sound
    recordings, and cultural objects.

    Drug Policy Alliance / Advocacy Grants Program
    Promoting Policy Reform
     
    PROGRAM:
    The Drug Policy Alliance is offering a grant that consists of two
    components under the Advocacy Grants Program. The two components,
    Promoting Policy Change, and Rapid Response/Special Opportunities, will
    work to advance drug policy reform. Promoting Policy Change targets those
    organizations working to advance drug policy reform at local, state and
    national levels through advocacy, grassroots organizing, and education.
     
    DEADLINE:
    June 15, 2005.

    Awards up to $50,000.

    Impacting Communities by Helping Youth
     
    PROGRAM:
    The Staples Foundation for Learning Grants programs will
    provide job skills and educational opportunities for students, especially
    disadvantaged youth. The Foundation considers educational funding to be
    an investment in the future of our communities. Their goal is to help local
    groups with programs and services that will positively impact communities
    every day.

    William Randolph Hearst Foundation
    Serving Underserved and Underrepresented Communities
     
    PROGRAM:
    The William Randolph Hearst Foundation aims to provide
    opportunities to underserved and underrepresented communities. For this
    grant cycle, the foundation focuses its attention on four areas: education,
    health, social service, and culture. For the education piece, the effort is to
    help students gain access to quality education. Higher education
    institutions, specifically ones that focus on teaching and health care, will be
    given first preference.

    Private colleges and universities; independent K-12 schools;
    regional hospitals, medical centers; and specialized medical institutions;
