Charter School Administrator Survey
In response to a discussion at the State Board of Education (SBE) meeting on May 17, 2005, the Department
of Education is surveying charter school administrators to determine if they have had issues with their school
federal statutes. The Department will use survey results in developing recommendations to help district
sponsors ensure that charter schools operate with both the autonomy and accountability provided by Florida’s
charter school law.
In order for the Department to present to the State Board at the June 21 meeting, I am requesting charter school
administrators complete the attached survey to report experiences or problems they have had with their sponsors
which involve significant violations of state or federal requirements regarding charter schools. Each situation or
problem must be clearly described and supported with factual information and details rather than anecdotal or
hearsay comments.
Completion of the survey is required even if you have no significant problems to report.
Submit your
completed survey to the Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice (IEPC) no later than the close of
business on June 6, 2005, by either mailing or faxing to:
