2005-2006 FLORIDA HANDBOOK
The Florida Department of Education is committed to a seamless education system where all
students can learn, and where we will continue to lead the nation in raising student
achievement. In an effort to increase student achievement and make sure all students are
provided with quality instructional materials, Florida makes available to teachers and students
the Florida Handbook.
The 2005-2006 Florida Handbook is now being published and will be made available to
Florida’s schools in the summer of 2005. The Florida Handbook is priced at $24.65 and includes
shipping on orders placed through the Department of Education.

In order to have the new Florida Handbook to teachers for use in the 2005-06 school year, we
ask that single district orders be placed through our office no later than April 15, 2005. We will
then process a single purchase order to the publisher, deduct the appropriate amount from each
district’s instructional materials allocation, and have the handbooks shipped directly to the
district Instructional Materials Administrators.
Districts may order as many copies as desired, but schools should be made aware that costs will
be subtracted from their instructional materials funds. If you or your teachers wish to purchase
copies after April 15, those orders will need to be placed directly through the publisher and the
current price may not be available.
