Advisory on Cheese Product Creditability
The purpose of this technical assistance note is to address the United States Department of
Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service’s position on creditability of
KRAFT
cheese spreads and
cheese foods, now referred to as Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Products.
“
Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product
” is not creditable for any food-based menu planning approach,
nor are any cheese items containing the word
“product.
” Cheese spread and cheese foods are
creditable as shown in the Food Buying Guide for Child – Nutrition Programs.
