Deadline Extension for the 2005 Principal Achievement Award and Outstanding Assistant
Principal Achievement Award
One of the most important elements in influencing student achievement is the quality of the instructional
leadership in the school. To recognize our best instructional leaders, the Department has continued to
provide the Principal Achievement Award and Outstanding Assistant Principal Achievement Award.
The deadlines for the 2005 Principal Achievement Award and Outstanding Assistant Principal
Achievement Award have been extended. The date to submit the nominations for both awards is June 30,
2005. All nomination packets must be postmarked by this due date. This additional time will give you the
opportunity to utilize student/school data in your deliberations when considering candidates to
recommend for these awards. The recipients of the awards will be honored in the fall at the
Commissioner’s Summit for Principals.
